Clinic Desk is the supporting side of Repertoire. The Template Workspace helps you compose the current note from Templates and Building Blocks. Clinic Desk helps you follow the work around that note: time, coding, improvement, goals, focus, reflection, and learning. Today is the first screen inside Clinic Desk, where you can see the day at a glance.

This is a review build. Use synthetic, patient-independent examples while the current no-PHI pilot agreement remains in force. Organizational privacy/IT approval and clinician/coder review are required before real-world use.

Follow one sample day

Imagine a synthetic clinic session. In Template Workspace, open Timers. The compact status shows Clinic day, Current visit, and the active work category. Start the clinic day and choose a category; that category receives your work time. Start the separate current-visit stopwatch when you want to see elapsed time for a visit. If you use time in Coding, review which minutes are eligible before entering them; the stopwatch does not decide that for you.

Build the note as usual. Open Coding from the Workspace's Standalone content area to review an office E/M code or a guided calculation. The Coding tab in Clinic Desk opens the same active coding draft. You choose the details; the app does not infer them from note text. The status tells you when a generated coding block was added to the note or manual edits were kept. After reviewing the result and any modifier, you can choose Record reviewed bundle in Today. The status confirms whether the result reached the note, Today, or both. The calculator does not submit a claim.

When the synthetic visit is done, copy the note if needed and choose Reset for New Visit. Reset clears the active note, coding draft, unsaved QI entry, and current-visit clock. It records the selected code bundle once in the day's counts. The clinic-day work record continues. For a day-level correction or a bundle that did not come from the calculator, open Clinic Desk → Today and use Record a code bundle or adjust a recorded count there.

Move between the two areas from the heading menu; on a narrow window, use Clinic Desk in the top bar. The Clinic Desk header names the suite, while Today names its overview. Today begins with clear choices: Start clinic day, Work on a visit, Track my day, and Improve a workflow. Additional Today cards stay tucked away until you choose Show all Today cards; Show essentials returns to the simpler view. This choice is saved in Clinic Desk settings. The tool tabs are grouped by work, improvement, and reflection. Today shows daily code and work trends and can surface a pinned QI measure.

If you are new to Clinic Desk, choose Take quick tour on Today or in Settings. A small guide moves through the actual Today, Coding, Activity, Improve, and Goals screens, highlighting each tool and its connection to the next. Choose Show next tool, Back, or Leave tour. The tour does not record anything or change your work; you can open it again from Settings.

Today also has an End-of-day wrap with work minutes, encounter counts, and QI observations, each with a path to the source for corrections. Under Settings → Arrange Today cards, you can move or hide overview cards. This changes only the overview; the tool tabs and saved data remain available.

For example, you might start from the editable wait-time card in Improve, pin its measure to Today, and record a synthetic observation after the session. You can also open a pinned measure beside the note in Template Workspace. A Goal can use that measure as its progress source; the Goal links back to its project, and the project shows linked Goals. Later, Journal offers one gray, rotating suggestion inside the empty writing field, while Learning holds a reusable lesson. The Journal suggestion is not saved as your writing. These are separate entries that you choose to save; they do not appear in the active note or become QI observations automatically.

Numeric QI variables can show a unit and an optional minimum and maximum. Improve checks the range when you save, shows the unit at entry and in summaries, and lets you edit an existing observation or undo a deletion. A QI-linked Goal can expand How this QI value is calculated to see its date window, observations, and calculation. From that Goal, Open project leads to Improve and Back to Goal returns. Goal review reminders appear locally in Goals on the review date; Mark reviewed records the review date without sending a clinical alert.

If a Template has a personal reminder, Template Studio → Optional QI action can link it to one existing project. The reminder then offers Record QI measure beside the note. Opening the form records nothing; review and save an identifier-free value yourself. The Template link belongs to the Workspace library, and the project and observations belong to Clinic Desk, so keep both backups.

When a Template reminder opens a quick QI measure, Back to note returns to the note. Keyboard paths are also available: Alt+Shift+W opens Template Workspace, Alt+Shift+D opens Clinic Desk, Alt+Shift+C opens Coding, Alt+Shift+Q opens a pinned QI measure, and Alt+Shift+N returns focus to the note. These paths are listed in Clinic Desk Settings.

Know what carries forward

Clinic Desk retains daily code-bundle counts, work activity, identifier-free QI observations, goals, settings, and saved Focus, Journal, and Learning data in this browser. The active note, selected Template choices, guided coding inputs, current-visit clock, and unsaved forms are session work. There is no automatic cloud sync or EMR connection.

Use Clinic Desk → Settings → Back up both areas for two explicit downloads. Workspace backup contains the reusable note tools and preferences; Clinic Desk backup contains retained daily work. Each card shows its last export date in this browser. The Clinic Desk import preview shows what will be replaced before Import and replace Clinic Desk. The Workspace settings panel also links to this backup view.

Before replacing Clinic Desk data, its import preview compares dates, projects, observations, and changed project names with this browser. Workspace import likewise compares local and backup counts for custom Templates, starting notes, and personal Building Blocks, and lists changed or missing Templates. Review those differences before restoring.

Start with one synthetic day. Once the whole path feels clear, use the individual tools that help your workflow; future guides can go deeper on each part after the Clinic Desk experience is settled.
