Repertoire offers several ways to reach the same maintained content. Choose the route that matches how certain you are about what you want.
Templates and Building Blocks are patient-independent starting points, not clinical advice. Review and approve them before use, never enter PHI, and complete patient-specific documentation in your approved EMR.
Browse and compare
Choose Browse Templates when you want to inspect a Template before inserting it. Search by title, category, or alias; filter by category or whether the Template uses linked Building Blocks; then review its exact sections and choices.
Choose Menu → Browse Building Blocks for smaller reusable statements, paragraphs, choices, and linked content. Search by name, tag, or maintained wording. Favorites appear first, followed by recently used items.
Search from anywhere
On any public page, use Search guides beside Open workspace. Press Command + K on macOS or Ctrl + K on Windows and Linux to focus it without moving to the Guides page first; submitting the search opens the filtered guide library.
In the workspace, choose Search in the header or use the same shortcut. Type part of a Template title, category, alias, or Building Block name.
This opens the command palette, which also finds Repertoire guides and workspace
actions. Search for an action such as note settings, a control such as text size, or a topic such as compact window. Setting results show their current
state; selecting a toggle changes it immediately. Selecting a guide opens the
complete explanation.
For example, type supportive to find the General supportive care Building Block. Use Up/Down to select a result and Enter to use it. Press Escape to close search.
A Template is inserted immediately. A Building Block that needs a choice or fill-in opens its library so you can complete it deliberately.
Create one-click shortcuts
In Browse Templates, use the pin beside a frequent Template. It then appears under Favorite Templates when no problem is active and under Add another favorite after you begin a multi-problem note.
In Browse Building Blocks, favorite a frequent item. Finished favorites appear under Common visit details. Choosing one inserts or updates its linked note content without duplicating the maintained object.
Pins, favorites, and recent-item order are stored in this browser. They do not change the Template or Building Block itself.
Use typed shortcuts deliberately
You can also:
- type an eligible exact Template or Building Block name on its own line;
- resolve several maintained items with a Repertoire Line; or
- type a dot phrase, review the displayed matches, and choose one with the mouse or its displayed number.
Keyboard shortcuts
On macOS, use Command; on Windows and Linux, use Ctrl.
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Open or close the command palette | Command/Ctrl + K |
| Resolve the current Repertoire Line | Command/Ctrl + Enter |
| Request a workspace Reset | Command/Ctrl + backslash |
| Show the previous or next active problem | Command/Ctrl + Left/Right |
| Open Card, Tall, Command Bar, or Quick Line | Command/Ctrl + Shift + 1/2/3/4 |
| Expand or return to the last small window view | Command/Ctrl + Shift + Space |
| Close the current menu, dialog, palette, or suggestion | Escape |
In the command palette, use Up/Down to select a result and Enter to run it. The Reset shortcut follows the same confirmation behavior as the Reset button.
Autocomplete and dot-phrase menus accept their displayed number keys. Tab accepts the first gray autocomplete suggestion; Escape dismisses suggestions for the current line.
With focus in an active Template panel:
- Alt + Up/Down focuses the previous or next panel.
- Alt + Left/Right moves between enabled controls in that panel.
- Shift + Alt + Up/Down reorders an untouched problem and its generated note block.
These shortcuts are focus-aware and do not replace ordinary typing in the note. Standard Tab and Shift + Tab navigation remains available throughout the workspace.
Use titles, aliases, and search guidance when an item is difficult to find or when you are deciding whether to add another alias.
