Folliculitis

Folliculitis is irritation or infection of the hair follicles and usually clears within 1-2 weeks. Recommended supportive care with an emphasis on warm compresses, washing with a gentle cleanser, loose clothing, and not picking or shaving the area while it heals. Return precautions given including spreading redness, a painful lump, drainage, fever, new symptoms, prolonged symptoms, worsening symptoms, and other concerns. Caregiver expressed understanding and agreement with plan. Answered all questions.
